What AI-powered means at Bornfight Studio
AI-powered development means the repetitive half of building a website is automated and the half that decides whether it is any good is not. AI drafts code, migration scripts and first versions; people set the direction, review every change, and refuse anything that reads as generated. The gain shows up in the build phase, and we spend it on craft rather than on a lower price. That is why work built this way still ends up in front of award juries: 98 international design and development awards so far, including Awwwards Site of the Day and Developer Awards, FWA of the Day and CSS Design Awards.
- 01Scoping
We argue about the brief before we agree to it
Every project starts with the questions nobody enjoys: who is this actually for, what has to be true in a year, and which half of the wish list can go. We would rather lose a week here than build the wrong thing beautifully. You leave this phase with a scope, a budget split into phases, and a list of what we deliberately left out.
- 02Art direction
Direction first, screens second
We set the visual and interaction direction on the parts that carry the brand, not on a full page inventory. Type, motion, and the two or three moments that make the site feel like itself. Once the direction holds, the rest of the screens follow quickly, because the hard decisions are already made.
- 03Build
AI does the first draft, we do the last one
This is where the speed comes from. AI writes boilerplate, migration scripts, data transforms and first-pass components; our developers review, refactor and take responsibility for every line that ships. The parts that decide whether a site feels handmade, motion timing, edge cases, the way a filter behaves on a slow phone, stay in human hands.
- 04Launch
Nothing goes live on a hope
Migrations run as dry runs first, with backups and a rollback path. Redirect maps are built from the old site rather than guessed. Performance budgets, structured data, accessibility and analytics are checked before launch, not after someone notices they are missing.
- 05Care
The relationship starts at launch
Most of our clients have been with us for years. Care means updates and hosting, but mostly it means the compounding work: catching performance regressions, tracking how the site shows up in search and in AI answers, and shipping improvements in small increments instead of one redesign every four years.
Where AI actually sits in the process
Implementation, not decisions
Coding agents handle the repetitive half of a build: component scaffolding, data transforms, test fixtures, one-off scripts. A developer reviews every change and owns the result. The architecture, the trade-offs and the quality bar are not delegated.
Migrations that would otherwise be manual
Moving a site without losing its search equity used to be a spreadsheet and a prayer. We build the migration itself as a tool: crawl the old site, match every page, dry run, then execute. On one recent replatform that meant 62 property URLs moved with zero errors.
Exploring directions before Figma
For some projects it is faster to generate three interactive art directions and click through them than to debate static frames. The prototypes are throwaway. What survives is the decision they helped make.
Where we refuse it
We do not ship AI-written copy as final, AI-generated imagery in place of real photography, or a layout that a model would produce by default. If a page looks generated, it goes back, regardless of how quickly it arrived.
